Getting Shoeganized!

So if you read my post last week I am sure you are in the recovery mode of the break up with your shoes. You know the usual binge eating ice cream, buying overpriced shoes online in a fit of emotion at 3 AM only to return them the next day…you know the drill.  Ok I am being completely dramatic, but now it is time to take care of those pairs that made the cut!

Now, raise your hand if you have a shoe pile that looks like a family of beavers built it in your closet? Raise your hand if you are now thinking, I wonder how long it takes beavers to build those dams? Snap out of it, pay attention! Enough googling about beavers let’s get back on track. So let’s dive into the shoe pile and chat organizing.  Now, I know some of you may disagree with me on this, but I think that you should be able to physically see every shoe you own. Yes, even those special occasion shoes that you delicately keep in the shoe box on the top shelf.  This way you can really get a feel for how often you wear your pairs and when you do that round two of a clean out it may be easier!

I personally am not a fan of the shoe racks that hang on the back of doors or can hang in your closet.  First, it can bang around on the door kind of annoyingly and stuffing those flats together in those pockets are just not good for the longevity of your shoes.  Also, not a fan of the ones that hang from the rod in your closet.  You lose a huge chunk of closet space for hanging items of clothing that will probably get lost in your dresser drawers, which we will be covering how to organize those next week!

Here are my top 3 recommendations for shoe storage that are the best home for your little pairs depending on your closet size!

Large walk in closet- 50 Pair Shoe Rack | Threshold | Target | $60

Medium sized closet- Natural 12-Pair Shoe Organizer | The Container Store | $40

Small closet-Household Essentials Craft & Shoe Storage Shelf with Bins | Bed, Bath, & Beyond | $40

Household Essentials® Craft and Shoe Storage Shelf with Bins
